Désirée Heintz has extensive experience in evaluating standard-essential patents and is a member of our team for patent infringement cases. She also advises clients on matters relating to employee inventions.

Désirée Heintz was awarded the IAM Managing IP Award for the “Impact Case of the Year” on 30 March 2021. She was also named a “Rising Star 2022” by Managing Intellectual Property (MIP) and, according to Handelsblatt/Best Lawyers, is one of Germany’s best lawyers 2023 in the field of Intellectual Property Law.

She speaks German, English, French and Dutch (basic skills).

CV

Studied Physics at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster focusing on Solid State Physics and Nanophysics; Diploma in 2008.

Research fellowship at the Hamburger Synchrotronstrahlungslabor (HASYLAB) at Deutsches Elektronensynchrotron (DESY) in Hamburg from 2008 to 2013 in the area of X-ray Crystal-lography and X-ray Spectroscopy, focusing on X-ray-induced damages in organic and metal-organic compounds, Doctor of Science (Dr. rer. nat.) at Deutsches Elektronensynchrotron and the University of Hamburg in 2012.

Legal training between 2013 to 2016 at Eisenführ Speiser at the Distance-Learning University of Hagen, a chamber for patent infringement matters at the District Court of Mannheim, the German Patent and Trademark Office and at the Federal Patent Court.

Patent Attorney (Germany) since 2017. Following a two-month internship at the intellectual property department of an internationally operating electronics company, since 2017 patent attorney with Eisenführ Speiser.
