Max von Vopelius has special experience in drafting, prosecuting and enforcing German, European and international technical property rights, as well as in opposition proceedings against German and European patents.
He focuses particularly on medium-sized companies driven by innovation, in close collaboration with which he develops holistic strategies for patents and intellectual property that are attuned not only to the company concerned, but also to its respective business model. Another key focus is providing consultancy to start-ups and investors on all issues relating to product protection during the start-up phase.
According to Handelsblatt/Best Lawyers, Max von Vopelius ranks as one of Germany’s best lawyers in 2023 in the field of Intellectual Property Law.
Max von Vopelius is a member of the Executive Board of the Federal Association of German Patent Attorneys.

Studied general physics at Technical University of Munich and University of Barcelona with focus in statistical physics and biophysics; Diploma in 2011.
Research fellow at BSC - Barcelona Supercomputing Center (2010-2011) in the field of theoretical biophysics and computational chemistry, in particular working on molecular simulation of proteins and the calculation of binding free energies.
Legal training between 2012 and 2014 at Eisenführ Speiser, at the Distance-Learning University of Hagen, at a chamber for patent infringement matters (District Court of Düsseldorf), at the German Patent and Trademark Office and at the Federal Patent Court. Two months internship with the intellectual property department of a medium-sized industrial enterprise; Patent Attorney (Germany) and with Eisenführ Speiser since 2015.
