In the current issue 1/2025, patent attorney Dr. Christine Cirl and attorneys-at-law Sönke Scheltz and Dr. Michael Schneider have published an article entitled „And Action: the UPC's interpretation of an “action” in Art. 83 UPCA and implications for effectively withdrawing Opt-Outs with pre-UPCA national patent disputes co-pending”. 

In the article, the authors explain the implications of the decisions UPC_CoA_489/2023 and UPC_CoA_500/2023, which significantly extend the possibility for effective „opt-ins” despite pending national proceedings.
