Studied chemistry at the University of Bonn until 1993. Doctorate with summa cum laude at the Institute of Physical Chemistry with a period of work at Cambridge University (UK) in 1993 with a scholarship from the Chemical Industry Fund. Legal training from 1997 to 2000 at a renowned law firm in Hamburg, at the University of Hagen, at the Hamburg District Court, at the German Patent and Trade Mark Office and at the Federal Patent Court. Stays abroad with a US law firm in Chicago in 2000 and a US company in Houston in 2001. Patent attorney since 2000 and European Patent Attorney since 2001.
