(Master's degree) in 1998. Research activities in the field of image processing, video coding and computer vision at the Fraunhofer Institute for Telecommunications, Heinrich-Hertz-Institute (FhG-HHI), in Berlin. Dr.-Ing. (Doctor of Engineering) obtained from the Technical University of Berlin in 2006.

Legal training from 2007 to 2010 at Eisenführ Speiser, at the Distance Learning University of Hagen, at the 2. Civil Senate of the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court, at the German Patent and Trademark Office and at the Federal Patents Court; State Examination passed in 2010.
