Stephan Nüsse

Studied Physics at the RWTH University of Aachen, obtaining his doctorate in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and at the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology at the RWTH University of Aachen, specialising in solid-state sciences, semiconductor technology, optoelectronics, nanotechnology and lasers; doctorate and postdoctoral research in the field of optoelectronics, 1998.

Legal education since 1998 in the Legal Intellectual Property Department of a multinational electronics corporation, responsible for prosecution and managing patents in the fields of power generation, nuclear engineering and nuclear fuel. Continued education and graduation in an international law firm and at Frankfurt District Court, at the German Patent and Trademark Office and the German Federal Patent Court in Munich. European Patent Attorney since 2003 and German Patent Attorney since 2004. Until 2008 partner in an IP-law located in Germany and Switzerland, providing international consulting services in all fields of intellectual property; at Eisenführ Speiser (Berlin) since 2009.

In addition to his in-company experience with business structures, IP strategies, patent evaluation and the law governing employee inventions, Dr. Stephan Nüsse has many years of experience in prosecuting and enforcing intellectual property rights such as patents, registered designs and trademarks. He advises in litigation and, where necessary, the cross-border enforcement of intellectual property, and in infringement and nullity disputes.

Specialised technical fields: Power generation and nuclear technology, fuels; metallurgy, ceramics, mining; textiles, sanitary and medical technology; packaging, automotive industry; communication and semiconductor technology.
