Frank Meier

Studied at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich, graduated with a Master’s degree in Physics in 1993, followed by research work at the Walter Schottky Institute at the Technical University of Munich. His main fields of work are solid-state physics, semiconductor structures and production, and optics.

Legal training at Eisenführ Speiser, at the German Patent and Trademark Office and the German Patent Court from 1994 to 1996; Patent Attorney since 1997, set-up of the Hamburg office since 1997, European Patent Attorney since 1998, Partner since 2001.

As a patent attorney, Frank Meier mainly caters to clients in the fields of mechanical engineering and semiconductor technology, and particularly in the field of filter technologies, wind turbines, the manufacturing of semiconductor structures and the production of cigarettes. He has many years of professional experience in patent infringement matters, nullity and cancellation proceedings and in drafting and prosecuting technological IP, especially in Europe and the U.S.A. Frank Meier is also specialised in intellectual property due diligence.
